December 1991: Holiday Hints
Old Christmas cards become gift tags when you cut off the front picture, trim with pinking shears, punch a hole in a corner and insert ribbon. Write your message on the back of the tag.
Coffee tins with silver or gold foil or other holiday wrap make perfect gift containers for homemade cookies or candies.
An inexpensive plastic tablecloth makes the perfect wrapping paper for an oversize gift or plant.
Empty plastic squeeze bottles can be filled with frosting and used to decorate cookies.
Kid cards: Fold a piece of holiday paper in half. Next, place your child’s hand on the paper and align their little finger with the fold. Let your child trace around their hand, then cut out the shape to make a personal greeting card.
Make Hanukkah cards by cutting triangles out of blue paper. Then overlap two of them to make a Star of David and glue to yellow construction paper.

POP FLY: An excited fan who jumps up with a glass of pop in his hands.
SLIDE: What happens when you walk through a puddle of spilled beer.
HOME RUN: What you try to do after the game to avid the traffic jam.
SLOW CURVE: What happens to your car as you pull out of the stadium parking lot.
RUN: What you do to get to the game on time.
WALK: What you do for three hours after the game before you finally locate your car.
May 1993: Helpful Hints
To remove crayon marks off the floor and walls, spray a little WD-40 on a cloth and wipe the mark off.
Hang an opened umbrella upside down from your chandelier before cleaning it [the chandelier] to catch dripping water.
December 2017: Holiday Recipe
Peppermint Bark Candy
1. Line baking sheet with waxed paper.
2. Crush 24 hard peppermint candies. Save out the large pieces for top.
3. Microwave 12 oz Nestles White Morsels in medium bowl on high for 1 minute. Stir and microwave at 15-20 second intervals until melted.
4. Add crushed peppermint candies to melted morsels. Stir. Spread as thin as possible on baking sheet. Sprinkle with candy pieces (press in lightly). Let stand until firm. (Can refrigerate.)
5. Break into small pieces and store in airtight containers at room temperature.
